OPENING DAY IS SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 1! Will things be different this year? Yes. But with safety as a top priority, we can still have a great 2020/2021 Winter Season at Steamboat Ski Resort. Steamboat has formalized a plan for this year to keep guests safe. By following some new guidelines, skiers and riders will be able to have an unforgettable Steamboat winter experience. Visiting the mountain this year? Here's what you need to know:

1. Wear your Mask

All guests will be required to wear face coverings while at the resort. This is mandatory while waiting in lines, riding in gondolas, loading and unloading on chairlifts, riding or skiing, interacting with staff and when indoors (except while eating or drinking).

This shouldn't be too different for guests, as most are familiar with covering their faces while skiing or riding anyways!

2. Social Distance

While in public and on the mountain, commit to helping us keep safe by maintaining 6 feet of distance from others when possible. Social distancing will be established by guests' following capacity limitations in chairlifts, gondolas, shuttles, lodges and restaurants, and by expanded lift line mazes.

When riding a gondola or chairlift, Steamboat guests will self-group and load with their related party up to the original maximum capacity. Unaffiliated skiers and riders may load together with at least a space between them. Individuals will be allowed to ride alone if they wish to do so.

3. Reservations and Daily Lift Tickets

Reservations will NOT be required for those with passes, at this time. Guests who pre-book packages through Steamboat's Central Reservations, or other approved travel partners - like Retreatia will have access for the dates of their package.

To limit on-mountain capacity and keep safety as a priority during the holidays and peak periods, Steamboat will be regulating the sale of daily lift tickets. The only way to guarantee mountain access is through advanced purchase tickets, packages and season pass products. Guests are able to reserve their ski days and purchase single-day and multi-day lift tickets here. Walk-up lift tickets will not be sold at the Ticket Office for the 2020/2021 Winter Season.

4. Equipment Rentals

This year, Retreatia has teamed up with Christy Sports and Ski Butler Rentals to offer guests discounted equipment reservations and flexible options, while keeping safe with COVID protocols. Guests are able to pre-reserve equipment, book fitting appointments and enjoy delivery options straight to their accommodations. Walk-ins will also be available.

For those wishing to book equipment rentals through Steamboat Ski Resort, advanced reservations are now required. Walk-in rentals are not available through Steamboat, this winter. Travelers can make reservations by calling Steamboat Central Reservations at 877-783-2628.

5. On Mountain Dining

Steamboat Ski Resort will still offer dining options on the mountain this winter season. To manage the flow of guests into restaurants and help overall capacity limits, lodges will be monitored by hosts and may require waiting periods. Once seated, guests will be able to order and pay contact free - through a mobile ordering system.

Specific restaurants will require reservations and others are available for quick grab and go options. Click here for more information. >

6. Hand Washing

We're all in this boat together. Help slow the spread of germs by keeping clean - especially while on the mountain! Wash your hands often!

7. Stay Home if Sick or At Risk

In order for everyone to enjoy the 2020/2021 season, all guests must commit to their personal responsibility for the welfare of our mountain and town. If you're at risk or feeling sick, it's better to stay home and seek testing if you're experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. Our little mountain town depends on everyone doing their part to slow the spread of the virus.

8. Guest Quality Assurance

We are dedicated to following CDC guidelines, as well as guidelines put forth by the Town of SteamboatRoutt County, and the State of Colorado. Our local community matters to us, and we look forward to welcoming guests back to our beautiful mountain town.
